Everything about Rupununi totally explained

Rupununi is a river and region in Guyana, South America. The Rupununi River runs from near the Brazilian border into the Essequibo River. The river during the flood season actually shares a watershed with the Amazon. The Rupununi region is mostly made up of savannah but contains rainforest habitat also. There are several indigenous peoples living in the area, including the Wapishana, the Macushi, and the Wai-Wai.
   The region is tropical rainforest and savannah and known for its great diversity of fresh water fish and intact ecosystems that harbor many species extirpated from other areas of South America.
